"Being married once is enough.  The only time I'd consider getting married is if I have a terminal illness, then I'll ask someone to marry me so they can have my social security."
Can you imagine some lucky lady getting that proposal?

Happy New Year

2012 came in quietly.
Spending a few days before New Year's Eve nursing the mother of all colds didn't allow much time to prepare.
The community New Year's Eve dinner was well attended and friends gathered just before midnight to ring in the new year.
I thought I was so careful about not transmitting this cold to anyone else. Even on New Year's Eve, I toasted without any hugs or pecks on the cheek.
Today, I learned that three friends came down with the same symptoms on New Year's Day.
My turn to make chicken soup and send it to all three of them.
